A fragrance inspired by homeward longing of travellers pausing at the ancient oasis of Dunhuang, amid their long journey along the ancient Silk Road.

The journey opens with the radiance of mandarin orange and saffron, shimmering like golden sands beneath the sun. Travellers reached Dunhuang after long, arduous journeys — a place of passage, departure, and return.

Danggui, or Angelica Sinensis, an ancient Chinese medicinal root, bears the poetic meaning of “return” in Chinese nomenclature.  It breathes forth the quiet longing of travellers turning homeward, bearing memories of distant lands and encounters along the way. Against the desert’s vastness, the oasis offered respite.

Orris and a delicate touch of rose evoke the velvety caress of silk carried along this legendary trade route. The medicinal warmth of Danggui weaves into sandalwood, guaiacwood, and a hint of oud, anchoring the soul in a calm, grounding moment of homecoming.
